Tetapi setelah banyak yang memberi masukan dan komentar, maka blog ini akan menyediakan juga soal-soal Matematika untuk SMP, terutama untuk persiapan <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/SemuaTentangKomputerDanMatematika" target="_blank">Ujian Nasional 2010</a>. Beberapa alasan mengapa saya tidak banyak memberikan <b>soal Matematika untuk SMP</b> adalah:<br />
1. Sebagian besar siswa SMP dapat melalui UN dengan mudah. Bandingkan dengan siswa SMA. Jumlah yang tidak lulus jauh lebih besar siswa SMA dibandingkan dengan SMP.</span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">2. Jumlah mata pelajaran yang diujikan lebih sedikit daripada SMA.</span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">3. Siswa SMA lebih membutuhkan untuk persiapan UN sekaligus SNMPTN, seleksi PT dll.</span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;">Namun dengan hal di atas bukan berarti saya meremehkan soal Matematika SMP. Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) 2007 melaporkan bahwa 48 persen murid setingkat SMP di Indonesia buta matematika. Jika buta huruf berarti tidak mengerti huruf latin dan cara memakainya, buta matematika adalah tidak paham tentang angka atau bilangan dan desimal, tidak paham operasi kali-bagi-tambah-kurang atau ping-poro-lan-sudo (bahasa Jawa), dan tidak paham membaca grafik sederhana.</span></div></span><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Dari 52 persen murid yang melek matematika, lebih dari setengahnya (55,7 persen) hanya melek tingkat dasar, yang hanya paham tentang bilangan dan desimal, operasi ping-poro-lan-sudo, dan grafik sederhana. Bandingkan dengan di Malaysia, yang sudah 82 persen murid melek matematika dan hanya 15 persen darinya tertinggal di tingkat dasar, yang belum mampu menggunakan pemahaman terse-. but dalam keseharian. Angka itu jauh di bawah rerata internasional, yang hanya 25 persen murid buta matematika dengan 61 persen dari mereka melek dan mampu menguasai tingkat dasar.</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Tidak usahlah kita bandingkan dengan kemampuan murid di Republik Korea Selatan, yang hanya 2 persen buta matematika. Dan ketika dibandingkan dengan Bosnia Herzegovina, sebuah negeri yang pernah dilanda perang etnik, kondisi Indonesia pun terlihat lebih buruk. Di sana hanya 23 persen murid buta matematika, dan 31 persen dari yang melek berada di tingkat dasar.</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>TTMSS 2007 juga mencatat bahwa murid Indonesia yang mampu menggunakan pemahaman matematikanya untuk menyelesaikan persoalan yang perlu beberapa langkah rumit (high order thinking) hanya kurang dari 1 persen, di bawah rerata internasional yang sekitar 2 persen. Bandingkan dengan murid Korea Selatan, Taiwan, dan Singapura yang di atas 40 persen.</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Ada yang salah Tingkat buta matematika di Indonesia pun ternyata meningkat. Pada 1999 masih bercokol di angka 50 persen, pada 2003 turun menjadi 45 persen, tapi pada 2007 meningkat lagi menjadi 48 persen. Sementara itu, mereka yang memiliki kemampuan tertinggi melorot dari 2 persen pada 1999 menjadi hanya kurang dari 1 persen pada 2007.</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Sungguh naif jika otoritas pengambil kebijakan pendidikan Indonesia tidak mengetahui gambaran sangat suram tentang kegagalan pendidikan matematika ini, dan sungguh mencengangkan, pemerintah tidak pernah memaparkan masalah serius ini secara terbuka kepada publik pembayar pajak, namun langsung memaksa sekolah untuk menjalankan ujian nasional (UN) mulai jenjang SDhingga SLTA dan menaikkan batas nilai kelulusan setiap tahun dengan dalih menaikkan mutu pendidikan.</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Gembar-gembor prestasi olimpiade matematika dan sains boleh jadi merupakan upaya menutupi kegagalan pendidikan matematika yang meluas tersebut. Secara alamiah, murid sangat pandai akan eksis di mana pun, termasuk di Indonesia yang tingkat melek matematikanya rendah. Meskipun jumlahnya sangat sedikit, jika mereka dilatih intensif tentu akan berhasil. Sementara itu, murid yang sangat bodoh juga berjumlah sangat sedikit, sehingga jika ada kebutaan matematika sebanyak hampir setengah dari populasi, tentu dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada yang salah dalam pendidikan di negeri ini.</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Meskipun pemerintah yakin bahwa UN dapat meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, artinya UN matematika dapat meningkatkan mutu penguasaan matematika murid. Sehingga, saat persentase kelulusan mata pelajaran matema-.tika di UN SMP naik, bahkan ketika batas kelulusannya dinaikkan, belum tentu secara otomatis tingkat melek matematika kita membaik pula. Sebab, UN jenjang SMP kita memiliki model soal yang berbeda dengan soal TIMSS-2007, sehingga hasil UN Indonesia tidak bisa dibandingkan setara dengan hasil uji TTMSS-2007.</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Mutu gum</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Matematika dianggap sebagai bahasa universal untuk memahami ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, dan sebagai alat utama untuk berpikir dan bernalar. Sehingga, di negara mana pun, pelajaran matematika di tingkat pendidikan dasar memperoleh porsi paling besar. Di Indonesia, pelajaran matematika</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>SMP diberi porsi 4 jam dari 32 total jam pelajaran per pekan, bahkan di SD diberikan selama 5 jam pelajaran per pekan (lebih dari 15 persen dari mata pelajaran yang diberikan). Dengan porsi sebanyak itu, sudah seharusnya sekolah tidak gagal mendidik muridnya melek matematika.</b></span></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Kegagalan tersebut mungkin akibat lemahnya penguasaan guru atas Sahan ajar matematika dan cara penyampaian yang kurang menarik di kelas. Akibatnya, pelajaran matematika menjadi momok dan sangat membosankan, bahkan untuk murid pintar sekali-. pun. Hal itu terbukti, lebih dari 50 persen guru kelas di SD dan sekitar 50 persen guru matematika SMP tidak layak mengajar, meskipun tingkat pendidikan formal mereka tidak ekstrem lebih rendah dibanding di Malaysia (TIMSS-2007).</b></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.9em; margin-top: 0.5em; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Untuk menaikkan angka melek matematika, pemerintah, selain harus mati matian memperbaiki mutu guru ketika mahasiswa (pre-service) dan saat mengajar (in-service), harus pula membenahi sarana dan prasarana pendidikan dasar hingga memenuhi standar pelayanan minimum (SPM) di seluruh pelosok Nusantara.
